The NSA

We already have a unified address space - why not have unified storage? There are certainly rational arguments to be made for it.  390 zettabyte roams the net  in a year. What is the actual storage demand to support such traffic?

In one word: large. However, do we need to exploit our natural resources to the degree we do? Wouldn't it be better if we had only one, always safely available version of each document? It is the interconnection of all knowledge that holds the truth, isn't it?
Besides redundancy, backups, accessibility and all that there are other reasons to be sceptical towards a system that aims to connect every dot in the most effective way possible. As humans we are in ourselves redundant in a rational sense. We are culture.
Stepping into a society where everyone is part of a unified process where divisions are done by self evolving, refined algorithms - we would not recognise ourselves as of today. Creatures, a different species.
Who will judge?
