As of 19:31 local time, there has been two confirmed deaths and many injured in Oslo. At Utøya, five people are reported as injured. The perpetrator caught.
It will certainly affect us. I do hope not too many have been traumatized and that our common reaction is not one of destructive behaviour.

Unconfirmed reports from SMSes sent by frightened youths at Utøya telling of execution style shooting. If all perpetrators are caught is still unclear. Seven people in Oslo confirmed dead. Two at Utøya, but still to early to say for sure. Many more expected dead in Oslo.

My theory was crap. It was a right-wing extremist. I as many others have become accustomed to thinking of all threats as external. The only thing I had right was that it was political rather than religious. A lone fuck-up of a mentally retarded psychopath is nothing we can protect against. We just have to continue our lives, be happy about our freedom and open society. Anxiety is no solution.
I feel very sorry for all the victims, their relatives and all others experiencing fear and trauma.
