Wild Strawberries

Today the mosquitos have had ample opportunity and temporary visa to my legs and arms. I just saw the ocean of wild strawberries (Fragaria vesca and Fragaria moschata) before me.

It is very early this year. The vesca berries are very sweet and big. Excellent, bordering on perfect. I guess that saturating rain during moderate temperatures earlier this June, followed by intense heat (~30°C) and likewise sunshine (UV index 6-9 for a week now) have made them ripe in an instant.

This afternoon I picked half a liter in about half an hour. I didn't have any bigger container with me.
